Literacy Foundations (Kindergarten) is designed to give young learners the essential building blocks they need to become confident readers. This program introduces and strengthens core early literacy skills, including letter recognition, letter sounds, phonemic awareness, and early phonics. Students will develop a strong foundation in blending and segmenting sounds, recognizing high-frequency sight words, and beginning to read simple texts with support. Through engaging, multi-sensory activities, children will also practice listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and early writing skills—setting the stage for future reading success. Our small-group instruction ensures individualized attention, helping each child gain the confidence, skills, and joy needed to begin their reading journey.

Literacy Launch is designed to strengthen and build upon foundational reading skills for 1st and 2nd graders. In this program, students will focus on a variety of key skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and basic comprehension. They will work on identifying and manipulating sounds within words, building strong vocabulary through context and word study, and developing strategies for reading unfamiliar words. Students will also engage in fluency practice to increase their reading speed and expression, while comprehending short passages and identifying main ideas. This program emphasizes the connection between decoding words and understanding the meaning of texts, providing students with the tools they need to become confident and independent readers.

Literacy Lift is focused on helping students in grades 3-5 build upon their reading comprehension and fluency while mastering more complex yet still foundational skills. This program targets vocabulary development, understanding word relationships (e.g., synonyms, antonyms, and homophones), and analyzing sentence structure. Students will deepen their ability to recognize and use common prefixes, suffixes, and root words, which are essential for reading fluency and word recognition. Additionally, students will practice reading with expression and comprehension, including summarizing texts, identifying themes, and making inferences. This program encourages students to engage with a range of genres—fiction and nonfiction—while fostering a deeper understanding of the texts they read, helping them to not only decode but critically analyze and synthesize information.
